“Change is the only constant and when we embrace it, we open ourselves up to being free to become whatever we wish to be.”
Embracing the Wind reminds us to live our best lives and embrace change as it comes our way.
Graceful and exotic– this line up of works celebrates life with bold melodies and an exuberant beat.
We will be featuring two exciting works by Andrés Martín: the deeply reflective Resilientes and the powerful Juan Soldado Suite for solo bass. The Juan Soldado Suite is a twenty-minute work with four contrasting movements. The piece uses the complete range of the instrument, exploring a variety of timbres and techniques, enriched by the use of basic electronic effects (Reverb, Delay, Chorus, etc.) which enhance the timbral variety and amplify certain harmonics and multiphonics.
In the The Book of Goddesses (flute, harp, percussion) composer Robert Paterson creates his own sound world with modes of music from India, Cuba, and Greece. Robert Paterson describes his compositional process – sometimes it is something as simple as the sound of wind, waves or thunder, or even a work of art, but often it is something a little more unexpected.
Join us for a fantastical journey.
