Celebrating music and immigrant stories around the world from Ireland to Mexico

Mystical and melodious, the line up for this program evokes a world of soulful yearning and celebration. Our musical voyage begins quietly in the hills of Ireland with the traditional Paistin Fionn and Merry Sisters of Fate arranged in the style of the popular Irish band Lunasa. Gregorio Gonzalez (baritone) joins in the Irish spirit with the beautiful John Corigliano arrangements of Three Irish Songs.  This performance will feature a new Peter Sprague arrangement of The Eternal Vow by Tan Dun -  music to transport you across the continents!  The journey continues with newly found gems from Estonia by Lepo Sumera & Daniel Catan, South American and Spanish canciones by Dilermando Reis & F. Obradors, and concludes with traditional Mexican songs and chamber music by Daniel Catan, composer of the opera Il Postino. Intertwined in our Camarada Del Mundo program will be immigrant stories to enrich the experience of the music.  The finale will be a surprise arrangement by Peter Sprague of the #1 Latin Folk song!
